Players and coaches involved in Minor A focus on developing fundamental, consistent offensive and defensive-skilled players who gain experience playing multiple positions. Players acquire an understanding of fundamental game strategy in competitive game and practice settings with the goal that they gain the skills and desire to play at the Majors level.
• Developing players ages 8-11 (higher skilled 8, higher skilled 9, 10, 11)
• Teams determined by Draft
• Regular attendance required
• Practices/games total 4-5 times per week (depending on manager)
• Games mainly played on Mon, Wed, Fri.
• Player pitch (pitch count applies)
• Little League rules with minimal special rules
• Mandatory rotation between infield & outfield for players
• Inning ends after 5 runs or 3 outs
• 11-person team roster, with 9-10 fielders
• Equal playing time
• Inter-league play likely
• Youth umpires
• Practices at GV Parks. All games at Isaacson Park or other city’s fields
